Governance

Introduction to, and role of the Local Governance Committee.

The LGC is a committee of the main board of The Park Academies Trust and is accountable to the Trustees for its decisions.

The LGC are responsible for a range of areas including:

  • Ensuring that standards of attainment and progress by all pupils at the school are high.
  • Taking a strategic role in the governance of the school.
  • Acting as a 'critical friends' to the school and its staff.
  • Ensuring that TPAT's vision for the school is carried forward.

We meet together on a termly basis (6 times per year) to discuss all aspects of school life, supporting The Principal and the staffing team in the leadership of our successful school.

Join our Local Governance Committee

Highworth Warneford School and the Park Academies Trust welcomes enquires and applications for roles on the Local Governance Committee (LGC) at Highworth Warneford School and also across our family of schools in North and West Swindon.

The Local Governance Committees support the Trustees of TPAT by focusing on strategic monitoring to achieve continual improvement within children’s education at each individual school. Acting as a critical friend you will be providing an essential role for the local school and the wider multi-academy trust. By becoming a LGC member, you will find the interaction between the board and school, is extremely rewarding.

If you can give approximately 6 hours per month, attend a one-a-term meeting starting at 4pm and are interested in supporting your local school, please make contact with Helen Bissex, LAB Support Officer at Highworth Warneford School by email: bissexh@theparkacademiestrust.com . Thank you.
