PSHE & Citizenship
PSHE at Highworth Warneford School– Life Skills for a Bright Future
PSHE at Warneford is all about preparing pupils for real life—giving them the knowledge, confidence, and skills to thrive both in and beyond school.
In our dynamic PSHE lessons, pupils explore everything from mental health and wellbeing to relationships, online safety, financial literacy, and career planning. It’s a space where students can ask big questions, challenge ideas, and learn how to make informed choices.
What makes PSHE exciting?
· 🧠 Empowering Knowledge: Pupils learn how to stay safe, healthy, and confident in a fast-changing world.
· 💬 Open Discussions: Lessons are interactive, inclusive, and respectful—encouraging pupils to share views and listen to others.
· 💼 Future-Focused: From CV writing to understanding money and work, PSHE helps pupils plan for successful futures.
· ❤️ Wellbeing First: We prioritise emotional health, resilience, and self-care—because happy pupils learn best.
PSHE is a vital part of our curriculum throughout KS3 and KS4. It develops responsible citizens, thoughtful friends, and independent young adults. It’s not just a subject—it’s a toolkit for life.

Parents now have a right to withdraw their children from RSE lessons and this will be respected. However, we hope that by working together to meet the needs of students, requests will be infrequent. Any such request should be made to the Headteacher.
GCSE Citizenship
"Empowering Future Changemakers"
GCSE Citizenship at Highworth Warneford School is more than just a subject—it’s a journey into the heart of society, democracy, and global issues. Pupils explore the big questions that shape our world: How does the law protect us? What does it mean to be British? How can young people influence change?
Through lively debates, real-world case studies, and interactive projects, students develop a deep understanding of human rights, politics, justice, and active citizenship. They learn how to challenge inequality, take part in democratic processes, and make their voices heard.
