Swindon Youth Festival of Literature – 12 to 16 November 2018

As you may have read in the Swindon Advertiser, all Swindon Secondary Schools will be participating in the 11th annual Swindon Youth Festival of Literature (SYFL) from 12 to 16 November 2018. Monday 12th November: Author Ali Sparkes will speaking in the afternoon for a Primary School event involving 200 students from our three local feeder schools, However, any of her fans at Warneford may stop by the HALL directly after school at 3.25pm to meet her. She will have copies of her latest book : DEATH BY DETENTION (cost £6.99) if any students wish to purchase a copy. (She says it’s a bit too edgy for Primary Schools, but will bring some along for Warneford students).

Tuesday 13th November: Young Bond author Steve Cole will be here speaking to Year 7 and 8 students, as well as some Year 9 and 10 students. There will be copies of all four of his YOUNG BOND titles for sale (£6 each) and Steve will be available during break and lunch to sign any books purchased. His books will be available to purchase through to 20th November.

Thursday15th November: Fifty Year 7 students will be attending a WORLD OF NORM event with author Jonathon Meres at the Wyvern Theatre in Swindon.

Friday 16th November: A team of 6 students will be competing in the annual Inter School Book Quiz at Swindon Academy in the morning and in the afternoon, all of Year 7 will attend a session in the school hall with poet Ash Dickinson.
