D of E – Developing young people’s skills for life and work
The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award is a Charity that works with young people from all backgrounds to build confidence, dedication and commitment. Students really feel the benefit of achieving their DofE Award for the rest of their lives and can improve the chance of getting into college, university or a job. It also helps to develop personal skills including time management, problem solving and initiative as well as interpersonal skills.
At Warneford, we offer students in Year 10 the opportunity to take part in the DofE Bronze Award which is made up of 4 sections: Volunteering, Physical, Skills and Expedition. Most students take between 6 to 12 months to complete their evidence at Bronze level with a view to completing their programme by Easter of Year 11.
