Science at Warneford

KS3 Science at Warneford is taught across two years, following an accelerated route that allows us to give a better choice of Science routes in KS4. We run informative and popular trips to the National Space Centre in Leicestershire, Bristol Zoo and the Intech technology centre in Hampshire.  Our Year 7 and year 8 pupils will, each year, follow 2 discrete topics from each of Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Geology / Earth Science which are detailed in the tables below.

We pride ourselves in offering a challenging concept-based academic curriculum in KS4, which is delivered by a team of strong, experienced teachers who have a track record of producing success. Many of our students spend Years 9, 10 and 11 studying towards two science GCSEs (Edexcel GCSE Combined Science).

Those who show potential at the end of Year 9 are invited to study Triple Science, leading to separate Biology, Chemistry and Physics GCSEs.  This provides an ideal academic basis from which to pursue A level sciences at college and beyond.  Details of the courses can be found in the specification links below.
